Whether it be drawing, coding, mechanical repair, photography, or videography, I enjoy the process of creating new designs. I have creativity that I’ve paired with the discipline I've learned from my years of practice and performing on the drums with various levels of performance bands, making a unique combination of skills that drives me forward. I have heavily invested myself in technology and am eager to master many levels of design. As a Photographer, I have had the opportunity to assist in documenting several events for not only friends and aquaintances, but also for large school events and small businesses. My favorite subject from behind the lens has been urban and nature photography which allows me to capture the world as I see fit. As a Videographer, I have had the opportunity to film, edit, and/or produce for the Univeristy of Washington’s Husky Marching Band and a handful of small businesses in the Seattle area. My time at the Univeristy of Washington Bothell’s Interactive Media Design major has left with me with a multitude of fantastic skills I am exited to utilize in the industry. Platforms such as XCode/Swift, Unity, the Adobe suite, and many more related programs have helped me craft incredible thoughts and sketches into real-life, interactable prototypes. We created two simple tutorials for the meantime in order to understand how our mechanics will be working in t as we come up with further in-depth ideas of our levels. We want the game to be challenging but also fun for the player. We understand that flying can stress just about anyone out, then add in a road commute and booking a multi step travel process on your phone, and the whole experience appears next to impossible. What ended up becaming the most intense and inspiring piece of this puzzle was creating a Virtual Reality ride that anyone could strap themselves into and experience first hand. Utilizing DJI Drones, GoPros, Unity, and the Adobe Production suite, two other team members and myself created our final proof of concept to allow for full immersion. As each piece came together, we sat a rotating cast of classmates in our test chair and recorded their overall experience as well as specific feedback for any inter-actable portion to deliver the final product. For inspiration and part of research into storytelling, I played the critically acclaimed Lifeline where you help a stranded Astronaut Taylor escape a perilous situation by dictating actions and events through dialogue choices. With each box, you can write a story and end that chapter with choices. Using newly attained skill and knowledge of the program, I mapped out each slide and interaction I wanted the player to have in regards to the story. The handheld console feel of the game immerses you in an adrenaline-filled sprint through an incredible day of escaping perilous situations. As true to the name, if you reach the aforementioned Escape Pod, you get the option to burst out into space and continue your journey or fend for yourself among the other passengers. Your scenery and options change and adapt to your surroundings as the story progresses to further immerse the player within the world. Kit - Technicality Based on some the great instruction we had recieved early in this project, we took the idea of using a QR code to stand is as the real-life place holder and anchor plate for Virtual items to connect to. Kit - Development Once the QR code was scanned, it activated the C.A.R. Kit app’s menu system where you select from an assortment of parts such as wheels and aerodynamic upgardes. It was important to match different parts to a corresponding distance from the QR code so that the items would look convincing on the appropriate area of the car. I spent the majority of my development time working specifically on distancing objects.
